How to Safety Insert Contact Lenses

Before applying the contact lens wash hands thoroughly. 

Try to avoid lotions and soaps with lanolin as these can adhere to the lens surface.

When drying hands it is best to use a lint free towel.

When applying the lenses it is important to make sure the contact lens is the correct way.

Place the contact lens on your index finger.

The edges of the lens should curl inwards like a bowl.

If the lens in inside out then the edges of the lens will flare outwards. This can be shown in the image below.

To apply the right contact lens, place the lens of your right index finger.

Hold the upper lid out of the way with your left hand, try to hold at the base of the lashes.

Hold the lower lid down with the middle finger of the right hand.

While looking straight ahead place the contact lens directing over the coloured part of the eye.

Slowly release the eyelids and close the eyes for a moment.

To apply the left lens, follow the same procedure as above but this time the contact lens will be on left index finger.

How to Safety Remove Contact Lenses

Before removing the contact lens make sure to wash your hands thoroughly. 

To remove the right contact lens hold the upper lid out of the way with your left hand, try to hold the lid at the base of the lashes.

Use your right index finger and drag the lens down.

Then use your thumb and index finger to pinch the lens off the eye.

To remove the left lens, follow the same procedure as above but this time use the opposite hand.
